AEW’s potential new show, AEW Shockwave, is still making waves, but it hasn’t landed on a network just yet. Rumors have been swirling for months about the mysterious new show, with Fox reportedly interested in adding some non-WWE wrestling to their programming lineup. But according to Fightful Select, while talks are ongoing, nothing is official yet—so don’t set your DVRs to FS1 just yet!

AEW filed a trademark for Shockwave back in September, setting the internet abuzz with speculation. Swerve Strickland even hinted at a potential Fox deal while casually chatting at Sneaker Con (yes, wrestling rumors now drop at sneaker conventions—it’s 2024, folks). And with WWE SmackDown recently vacating its Fox spot to move back to USA Network, it seemed like the stars might align for Shockwave to fill the void. But for now, it’s still in the rumor mill, waiting for the deal to be finalized.

AEW’s Media Moves: What’s Locked In?

While Shockwave is still shopping for a network, AEW’s other shows are locked and loaded on Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) programming for the foreseeable future. Dynamite and Collision will remain on TBS and TNT through 2028, thanks to AEW’s new media rights deal with WBD. Both shows will also stream live on Max, with the entire AEW library set to join the streaming platform in 2025. That means all the classic Dynamite moments and AEW’s pay-per-views will be just a few clicks away at a discounted rate—good news for fans who want their wrestling fix without breaking the bank.

However, Rampage and the Battle of the Belts specials might be facing a different fate. As of now, neither show is scheduled to air in 2025, so enjoy them while you can because they might be fading into wrestling history.

What’s Next for Shockwave?

AEW is no longer tied exclusively to WBD, meaning the company has the freedom to explore new partnerships. With Dynamite and Collision securing long-term homes, AEW’s focus is now on expanding its footprint, potentially with Shockwave. Fox seems like a strong contender, but as the saying goes in wrestling: it ain’t over until the contract is signed. Stay tuned—Shockwave could be the next big thing, or it could just be another rumor caught in the wrestling wind.
