Mikey Rukus, AEW’s resident beat-dropper and the man behind those unforgettable entrance themes, is officially sticking with All Elite Wrestling! According to the insiders at Fightful Select, Rukus signed a new deal with AEW in recent months, just as WWE, meanwhile, is…well, wrestling with some sound strategy issues of their own.

Rukus has been the musical brain behind some of AEW’s most iconic tracks, like the booming entries for Mariah May, the Iron Savages, and Red Velvet. He even dabbles in the occasional orchestral and 8-bit renditions, because why have one version when you could drop multiple bangers? Rukus, who initially caught AEW’s attention through a Dustin Rhodes post in 2019, has been on the AEW soundstage since the promotion’s debut.

Meanwhile, WWE is trying to tune up its musical game. After a cascade of fan feedback (mostly “make it stop!”) over its partnership with Def Rebel, WWE has posted a job listing for a “Director of Music Strategy and Operations.” But hold the trumpets—it’s more a “corporate” gig than the creative role fans might hope for. WWE insiders say they’re keeping an eye on fan reaction to Def Rebel but don’t expect an all-out musical makeover just yet.

As the sound waves settle, it looks like AEW has taken a victory lap in the music department, securing the maestro of their playlist. WWE, the ball is in your court—or, perhaps, your karaoke machine.
