In a move no one saw coming, JBL has staked his claim on Mexico’s biggest wrestling promotion, AAA, and he’s promising nothing less than a “global takeover.” That’s right, the Texas Tycoon himself is crossing borders, stepping into the ownership ring, and declaring he’s here to “make Mexico great.” Because if there’s one thing JBL knows, it’s exactly how to kick up a cultural storm — and he’s already stirring the pot.

JBL hopped onto X (formerly known as Twitter) with a proud video of himself alongside AAA executive Dorian Roldan, in which he sprinkled in some “constructive” feedback on Mexico’s, er, general aesthetic before declaring his plans to open American doors for Roldan and AAA. After all, what’s a global wrestling empire without a little transcontinental business wisdom?

In the video, JBL — ever the character — threw a few not-so-subtle jabs about Mexico’s “need” for his influence. And Roldan? He’s all-in on expanding AAA internationally, so this union of bombast and business could spell some massive changes for lucha libre fans everywhere. It’s the start of an intriguing new chapter for JBL, who’s been busy appearing across wrestling promotions like TNA, GCW, and MLW, even helping Nic Nemeth retain his TNA title by throwing out Clotheslines from Hell at Bound for Glory like they were confetti.

With stem cell treatments letting him hit the gym pain-free for the first time in years, rumors are swirling that JBL could be prepping for a full comeback. Whether that involves lacing up his boots for AAA remains to be seen, but for now, he’s ready to “improve” Mexico’s profile and take AAA to new heights. Viva la takeover.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
