In an electrifying three-way tag team clash on WWE Raw, The War Raiders stormed their way to the front of the tag team line, besting The New Day and the Latino World Order (LWO) to become the new No. 1 contenders for the World Tag Team Championship. And in true WWE style, it was a raucous affair filled with high-flying stunts, some high-stakes ankle locking, and a few wrestling maneuvers that probably have a patent pending.

Kofi Kingston of The New Day had Dragon Lee right where he wanted him, but in a move that would make even the boldest of gymnasts jealous, Woods ditched the finisher and went airborne toward Rey Mysterio. But Mysterio, age-defying as ever, pulled a smooth dodge, turning the tables on The New Day by partnering with Lee for a potential game-winner. Just as Mysterio went for his signature 619, Chad Gable appeared out of nowhere, snagging Rey mid-move with an ankle lock that left him helpless at ringside. This opening let Erik and Ivar of The War Raiders swoop in for the win, with a thunderous double-team clothesline-to-German Suplex combo that sent Kingston to the mat for the 1-2-3.

After their decisive victory, The War Raiders now stare down Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for a chance to add a third WWE Tag Team Championship reign to their Viking resume—a chance that’s giving everyone flashbacks to their “War Raider” roots, when horns and Norse mythology dominated their ring entrance.
