Folks, grab your popcorn and brace yourself for wrestling at its finest – or most dramatic, anyway. AEW’s upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view will see MJF squaring off against none other than Roderick Strong. And if Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite was anything to go by, this one’s going to be a bumpy ride filled with betrayal, ringside interferences, and diamond rings used as surprise weapons!
It all started when Roderick Strong quickly dispatched Lance Archer in a Falls Count Anywhere match – with some ringside assistance, of course. Archer had backup from Brian Cage, but Strong’s loyal teammates Matt Taven and Mike Bennett were there to level the playing field. Strong triumphed with a jumping knee over the barricade that took down Archer. All good, right? Wrong.
After Strong’s win, things spiraled. Takeshita blindsided Strong, delivering a harsh reminder that Don Callis, ever the strategist, had been paid handsomely by MJF to keep both Strong and his “best friend” Adam Cole out of Full Gear. Cole, meanwhile, went straight into his match with Takeshita, and just when it looked like he’d win with a Panama Sunrise, Takeshita pulled out a plot twist: MJF’s infamous “Dynamite” diamond ring. One hit, and Cole was down for the pinfall.
Not to be outdone, Strong tried his own sneak attack on Takeshita, only to get a taste of that same diamond-studded fist. The crowd roared as Kyle O’Reilly made a surprise appearance, steel chair in hand, ready to back up his old friends…kind of. When Cole extended a handshake, O’Reilly wasn’t having it and walked out, leaving fans with more questions than answers.
AEW Full Gear is set to deliver more drama than a soap opera. Will MJF’s well-funded schemes backfire? Will Cole and Strong mend fences, or will Kyle O’Reilly’s chair make a more, shall we say, permanent appearance? Tune in – it’s bound to be a Full Gear of backstabs, cheap shots, and enough diamond-ring bling to make any jeweler blush.
