Could CM Punk be the missing piece in Survivor Series: WarGames? Wrestling insiders are buzzing with predictions that the Second City Saint will return in a major way, joining the original Bloodline’s team to battle the New Bloodline. While Seth Rollins was the obvious candidate for the babyface side, some experts believe Punk’s involvement “makes infinitely more sense.”
The Theory
According to Fightful’s Corey Brennan and PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, Punk’s addition would tie directly to Paul Heyman’s mysterious absence and the fractured relationship with Roman Reigns. On a recent PWI Elite podcast, Johnson laid out his reasoning:
“The fifth man is going to be CM Punk. There’s a reason Paul Heyman is so pivotal right now. Roman’s reaching out to him for advice, but Paul’s number is disconnected. The original Paul Heyman Guy — other than Brock, of course — is Punk. It all fits.”
Heyman and Punk’s history as allies in WWE, combined with Heyman’s dramatic exit after being put through a table by the New Bloodline, adds fuel to the speculation.
Punk’s Return Storyline
Punk’s last WWE appearance was his Hell in a Cell victory over Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood. If this prediction holds, his return would mark a full-circle moment at Survivor Series, where he made his WWE comeback last year.
Paul Heyman, often seen as a mastermind behind Roman Reigns’ reign, could potentially bridge Punk into the storyline, especially if Reigns’ trust in Heyman continues to waver.
Why Not Rollins?
While Rollins teaming with Zayn and the Usos was teased on Raw, his longstanding animosity with Roman Reigns makes a partnership implausible. Punk, however, offers a wildcard dynamic that could shift the WarGames narrative into uncharted territory.
