SmackDown just served up the chaos we didn’t know we needed! Chelsea Green, the WWE Women’s Tag Team co-champion, pulled a fast one in the Women’s United States Championship tournament, advancing to the semi-finals after a wild finish that saw her snatch a victory from Bianca Belair and Blair Davenport. But the real shocker? Jade Cargill, Belair’s partner in championship crime, was taken out in dramatic (and literal) fashion.
The match was a rollercoaster. Belair had things locked up with a picture-perfect 450 Splash on Davenport. Just as victory seemed inevitable, Green played the ultimate opportunist, yeeting Belair out of the ring and attempting to swipe the win. Belair wasn’t having it, dragging Green out and introducing her to the steel steps with the kind of enthusiasm that gets replayed in slow motion. A pin attempt later, and Davenport decided it wasn’t time for a nap.
Then, WWE’s love for chaos peaked. The titantron showed Jade Cargill lying amidst shattered glass, having been sent through a car windshield. Because when a backstage attack isn’t enough, vehicular damage is apparently the next step. Naturally, Belair abandoned the match, channeling full concerned BFF energy, leaving Green to capitalize. After surviving Davenport’s counterattack, Green landed the Unprettier for the pin and punched her ticket to the semis.
Meanwhile, Cargill was whisked away in an ambulance, with Belair riding shotgun (figuratively speaking). Cargill’s status remains unclear, but this shake-up adds even more spice to the already unpredictable tournament. Belair’s next match? A triple threat against Piper Niven and Michin. And in case that wasn’t enough, we’re still waiting on Naomi, Tiffany Stratton, and Elektra Lopez to throw down in the final first-round clash.
As for Chelsea Green? She’s probably somewhere celebrating with her Women’s Tag Team title and a knowing smirk.
