AEW’s Full Gear Zero Hour kicked off with action-packed matches that saw Anna Jay and Buddy Matthews walking away victorious, setting the tone for the night. From interference drama to high-flying chaos, the kickoff show had it all.

Anna Jay vs. Deonna Purrazzo

Anna Jay opened the evening by defeating “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo, who had Taya Valkyrie in her corner. The match featured more drama than a reality show reunion, as Valkyrie kept inserting herself, including delivering a blatant spear to Jay right in front of the referee. In a move that had everyone scratching their heads, the referee chose to eject Valkyrie instead of disqualifying Purrazzo.

With the distraction removed, Purrazzo locked in an armbar, but Jay reversed it with a slick black slide pin, securing the win. Score one for the House of Black’s rising star!

Buddy Matthews vs. Dante Martin, Beast Mortos, and Komander

Later in the show, Buddy Matthews faced Dante Martin, Komander, and the colossal Beast Mortos in a chaotic four-way match. The action began with Martin and Komander being tossed out like yesterday’s leftovers, leaving Matthews and Mortos for a dramatic big-man stare-down.

Martin and Komander formed an unlikely alliance, dazzling the crowd with high-flying teamwork. Komander delivered a jaw-dropping moment when he walked the entire top rope before hitting a springboard dive that took out all three opponents on the outside.

But Matthews showed why he’s a dominant force, weathering the aerial storm and hitting a crushing stomp on Martin to seal the victory.

Both Jay and Matthews delivered standout performances, proving once again why the House of Black is a faction to be reckoned with.
