Hold onto your retro wrestling tights, folks—Saturday Night’s Main Event is making a grand return to television, and WWE isn’t pulling any punches (or hair, we hope). The December 14 show at Nassau Coliseum promises to blend modern drama with a blast from the past, and leading the nostalgia parade is none other than WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart! Yes, the Mouth of the South is dusting off his megaphone and flashy suits to scream sweet nothings into our ears once again.

Hart Attack on the Horizon

According to PWInsider, Jimmy Hart’s comeback is part of WWE’s plan to give the show a classic vibe, complete with retro graphics, nostalgic music, and perhaps a few mullet wigs for good measure. Hart, who was a regular fixture on the original Saturday Night’s Main Event in the ’80s, last graced our screens in January at Raw is XXX, where he joined Hulk Hogan in a reunion that had more “brother” than a Hulkamania promo.

Hart’s return promises to inject some old-school chaos into the proceedings. Will he cut promos? Will he reunite with an old tag team? Or will he just yell at people while wearing leopard print? Either way, we’re here for it.

A Night of Championship Stakes and Retro Feels

Saturday Night’s Main Event won’t just be about nostalgia. WWE is delivering some serious firepower with a showdown between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. Meanwhile, the first-ever Women’s United States Champion will also be crowned, signaling the culmination of a tournament on SmackDown.

The event will air on NBC as part of WWE’s renewed relationship with NBCUniversal, making it the first televised Saturday Night’s Main Event since 2008. For fans of both vintage wrestling chaos and fresh storylines, this might be the best holiday gift yet.
