Kevin Owens isn’t holding back, and why would he? On WWE SmackDown, the Prizefighter unleashed a scathing promo against Cody Rhodes that made the “American Nightmare” look more like the “American Neighbor Who Won’t Lend You a Ladder.”
Owens reminded fans that his feud with Roman Reigns reads like a “What Not to Do” guide for ladder safety. He recounted key moments of Reigns-induced trauma: being tossed off scaffolding on New Year’s Day 2021, getting golf-carted into oblivion at the Royal Rumble later that month, and enduring a Royal Rumble 2023 beatdown courtesy of The Usos.
But Owens wasn’t just rehashing his greatest hits in the WWE injury reel—he had a point to make. Where was Cody Rhodes during all this? According to Owens, sipping coffee backstage while Owens was getting folded like an IKEA chair.
And don’t get him started on Rhodes teaming with Roman Reigns recently. Owens called it a betrayal so profound it might as well have been booked by daytime soap writers. The Prizefighter capped it off with a zinger: “At Saturday Night’s Main Event, I’ll turn the American Nightmare into the Canadian Dream.” Bravo, Kevin. Bravo.
Meanwhile, Rhodes stayed busy on SmackDown with a victory over Carmelo Hayes. But if Owens has his way, that momentum won’t last past Saturday.
