The road to 2025 just got a little more evil. WWE’s “NXT” brand is bringing its annual New Year’s Evil event to Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday, January 7, and it promises to kick off the year with more fireworks than a WrestleMania pyrotechnics display gone rogue. The announcement, made during last night’s NXT Deadline PLE, has fans buzzing, and not just because of the Hollywood locale.

This timing is no coincidence. WWE’s flagship show, Raw, is making its Netflix debut the night before from LA’s Inuit Dome. Combine that with WWE’s newly opened Transfer Window, and you’ve got a recipe for crossover chaos. Expect some main roster stars to make cameos, steal spotlights, or both.

Confirmed Matches: Title Chaos Incoming

As of now, two blockbuster matches are already locked in for New Year’s Evil:

1️⃣ NXT Women’s Championship:
Reigning champion Roxanne Perez will defend her title against Giulia, the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge winner. But there’s a twist—current Women’s Money in the Bank holder Tiffany Stratton has teased that “Tiffy Time” could crash the party. Stratton has been eyeing Perez like a hawk, and with a briefcase guaranteeing her a title shot anytime, anywhere, the odds of a clean outcome are about as high as a referee spotting a low blow.

2️⃣ NXT Championship:
Fan-favorite Trick Williams will put his title on the line against Oba Femi, who punched his ticket to the main event after winning the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Femi, a last-minute addition to the match after Eddy Thorpe was mysteriously attacked backstage, is riding a wave of momentum. Meanwhile, fans are left asking: who ambushed Thorpe? Could it be a jealous roster member or a main roster interloper setting the stage for New Year’s drama?

Hollywood Meets NXT: What’s Next?

With Los Angeles serving as the backdrop, New Year’s Evil feels primed for star power and unpredictable moments. General Manager Ava has promised to “start 2025 with a bang,” and if history is any indication, that could mean shocking debuts, major betrayals, or a live crowd collectively losing their minds.

Keep an eye on the Transfer Window, too. WWE loves a good “surprise entrant,” and with so many moving parts between Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, January 7 could feature more than a few unexpected faces. Could someone from the main roster step in and shake up the title picture? The suspense is killing us, and we love it.
