As 2024 winds down, Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) has dropped its much-anticipated—and inevitably controversial—list of the year’s best tag teams. The magazine’s fifth annual Top Tag Teams rankings have declared WWE’s Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill the undisputed queens of the tag team division.

The Dynamic Duo: Belair and Cargill

Dominating from bell to bell, Belair and Cargill’s union of powerhouse athleticism and star power made them the team to beat this year. Together, they racked up multiple reigns as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and claimed a career-defining victory at WrestleMania XL. The duo’s success wasn’t just about belts—it was about breaking barriers and redefining what dominance looks like in the women’s division.

PWI’s Top Three: A Global Showdown

Hot on their heels were:

  • Nathan Frazer and Axiom (NXT), whose high-flying prowess and tactical brilliance earned them two NXT Tag Team Championship reigns.
  • Bishamon (Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi, NJPW), who added two more IWGP Tag Team Championships to their collection, cementing themselves as five-time titleholders.

The Rest of the Elite 10

  • 4th: The Young Bucks (AEW) – Still too sweet to ignore.
  • 5th: Mikey Nichols and Shane Haste (NJPW’s TMDK) – Mighty indeed.
  • 6th: Ace Austin and Chris Bey (ABC) – Impact’s ace tag team.
  • 7th: The Saito Brothers (AJPW) – A force to be reckoned with in Japan.
  • 8th: Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa (WWE’s Bloodline) – Samoan strength personified.
  • 9th: Mei Seira and Suzu Suzuki (STARDOM’s Crazy Star) – Stardom’s shining duo.
  • 10th: FTR (AEW) – Consistently among the best in the business.

Belair & Cargill: A Team of the Future

While tag team purists might debate the list, Belair and Cargill’s ascent is undeniable. Their chemistry, combined with a superstar aura that captivates audiences worldwide, has solidified them as one of the most exciting tandems of recent memory.

As the EST of WWE meets the unstoppable force of Jade Cargill, it seems the sky isn’t the limit—it’s just the starting point.
