In the spirit of giving (and maybe a splash of promoting), AEW’s Tony Khan delivered a sleigh’s worth of wrestling-themed holiday cheer to Arlington, Texas, on Monday. After hyping up next July’s AEW All In: Texas with a festive ticket kickoff event, Khan decided to go full Santa mode—minus the beard but with plenty of Jazwares-backed toy magic.
On X (formerly known as Twitter but still commonly referred to as “Twitter” by anyone over the age of 30), Khan announced that AEW, in collaboration with their partner Jazwares, donated over 15,000 AEW action figures to Mission Arlington, ensuring a very wrestling Christmas for many children. Because nothing says “holiday spirit” quite like Kenny Omega dropkicking seasonal depression.
“Wishing a Merry Christmas to Arlington from AEW and Jazwares,” Khan posted, clearly angling to win the Most Festive Wrestling Billionaire Award for the second year running.
This isn’t Tony Khan’s first time donning the metaphorical Santa hat. Last year, he orchestrated a toy donation extravaganza during the final week of the Continental Classic, pairing AEW with Toys for Tots to deliver over $1 million worth of toys. It was dubbed “Tournament for Tots,” and while the name sounded like an underwhelming appetizer special, the generosity was anything but.
But why no toy tie-in for this year’s Continental Classic? Maybe it’s because the tournament still has matches to go. Or maybe Khan just thought the Arlington action figure blitz was enough to cement his spot on Santa’s Nice List. Either way, wrestling fans in Kansas City can look forward to Claudio Castagnoli vs. Will Ospreay and Brody King vs. Ricochet this Wednesday. The Blue League might be sitting this one out, but the Gold League is turning up the heat like chestnuts on an open fire.
