Wrestling fans, brace yourselves — The Diamond might just be coming home. According to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tessa Blanchard, former TNA Knockouts and World Champion, is reportedly set to make her grand return to the promotion now once again known as TNA Wrestling. Yes, folks, sometimes goodbye really is just a second chance (or at least a well-negotiated contract).

What We Know

Currently one-half of the CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Champions with Lluvia, Blanchard has been conspicuously absent from recent CMLL shows. This absence, paired with cryptic tea spilled by The Observer, suggests that Blanchard has quietly inked a deal to rejoin TNA. Cue the speculation music.

Her championship situation in CMLL, however, remains murky. While her tag partner Lluvia gushed about working with La Jarochita in a recent interview, Blanchard’s name wasn’t even whispered. Coincidence? We think not. With CMLL’s titles up in the air and Blanchard’s potential TNA program already rumored, it feels like this diamond is ready to shine elsewhere.

What’s Next in TNA?

If the rumors are true, Blanchard may be stepping directly into a feud with Jordynne Grace, a TNA staple and three-time Knockouts World Champion. Grace is reportedly eyeing the WWE horizon once her contract wraps in early 2025, meaning Blanchard’s return could serve as a symbolic passing of the torch (or a fiery clash of Knockouts icons).

A Legacy of Controversy and Triumph

Blanchard’s first run in TNA from 2018 to 2020 was equal parts groundbreaking and contentious. As the first woman to hold the TNA/Impact World Championship, she shattered glass ceilings with a headlock. But the end of her tenure was overshadowed by allegations of bullying and racism, specifically involving La Rosa Negra. While the two have since reconciled, the controversy left a dark cloud over Blanchard’s otherwise luminous career.

Why It Matters

Blanchard’s potential return to TNA represents more than just a comeback. It’s a story of redemption (or, depending on who you ask, audacity). Wrestling thrives on reinvention, and TNA seems keen to lean into its nostalgic revival by bringing back one of its most polarizing stars.

Is this a brilliant move by TNA or a risky gamble? Only time will tell. For now, fans can only speculate on whether Blanchard will cement her legacy as wrestling’s ultimate diamond or find herself caught in another rough situation.
