Ladies and gentlemen, the Rated-R Superstar Adam Copeland is gearing up for an epic comeback, and the wrestling world is buzzing louder than Jim Ross after a barbecue festival! According to the ever-reliable Fightful Select, Copeland is set to return to AEW, possibly as soon as the Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite on January 1. And let me tell you, the timing couldn’t be more perfect—it’s a hometown affair, it’s a new year, and AEW is making its big debut on MAX. Triple threat, baby!

A Brief Recap: Steel Cages and Broken Dreams

Copeland has been MIA since May’s Double or Nothing, where his tibia was shattered during a brutal Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against Malakai Black. Not content with just losing his leg health, Copeland also had to vacate the TNT Championship. It’s been a long road to recovery, but now he’s medically cleared, training like a madman, and ready to step back into the squared circle.

Asheville’s Favorite Wrestling/Acting Double Threat

The January 1 show is taking place in Asheville, North Carolina, Copeland’s current stomping grounds, and word is he won’t be coming alone. Asheville locals FTR hinted at bringing backup to the event, which all but screams Copeland’s return. Add the fact that all proceeds from Fight for the Fallen will aid Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in the area, and it looks like AEW is stacking the emotional deck higher than a steel cage.

Oh, and let’s not forget Copeland’s other job: he’s been moonlighting as Ares in Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, where his work recently earned him a Children’s and Family Emmy Award nomination. Who knew breaking bones in one universe could lead to breaking awards records in another?

Questions Loom

The big question: Will this return be a one-and-done due to his acting schedule? With Percy Jackson filming wrapping in January, we may get Copeland full-time or sporadic appearances until then. Either way, his return promises to shake up AEW more than a barbed wire cage shakes up an X-ray technician.
