Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) walked into AEW Worlds End ready to defend his AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring. He left with the ring still in hand but his body bruised and his ego battered, thanks to the surprise reformation of a faction that looked suspiciously like NXT’s Undisputed Era.
MJF Out-Cheats Adam Cole (Classic)
The match began with chaos as MJF and Adam Cole brawled outside the ring, quickly turning into a blood-soaked grudge match. Cole ate the steel steps early, busting his forehead open, but returned the favor by sending MJF face-first into the ring post. Blood? Mutual.
Cole landed a Panama Sunrise followed by The Boom, only for MJF to kick out at two. Desperate times called for desperate measures. While the referee was distracted, MJF faked an injury to implicate Cole’s ringside buddies, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. During the ensuing commotion, MJF reached for his diamond ring, but Cole superkicked the sneaky champ before he could use it. Unfortunately for Cole, MJF had another trick up his Burberry sleeve: a low blow followed by the Heat Seeker, earning him the victory.
Undisputed Chaos: The Era Reforms
The celebration didn’t last long. Roderick Strong’s music hit, and the Messiah of the Backbreaker stormed the ring to chase off MJF. Before Max could escape, Kyle O’Reilly made a shocking return, forcing the bloodied champ back into the lion’s den.
The beatdown commenced, with Strong and O’Reilly softening MJF up while Cole watched with delight. Finally, Cole hit MJF with his own diamond ring, delivering the ultimate insult. As the crowd roared in disbelief, Taven and Bennett joined the group in what appeared to be a new iteration of the Undisputed Era, celebrating over MJF’s battered body.
