AEW Worlds End in Orlando wasn’t just a showcase of high-octane wrestling—it was also a casual reunion for former WWE stars. Joining the likes of Tom “Baron Corbin” Pestock and AJ “Top Dolla” Francis backstage was none other than Tyler Breeze. But before anyone starts speculating about Prince Pretty trading his selfie stick for an All Elite contract, let’s pump the brakes.
Breeze’s current status in wrestling is as unique as his ring gear. Technically, he’s still under contract with WWE due to his role as co-host of Xavier Woods’ popular YouTube channel UpUpDownDown, which WWE owns. This arrangement also explains why he pops up in the GM Mode of WWE 2K video games despite his 2021 release. WWE’s deal with Breeze allows him to take independent bookings at his leisure, a perk he’s used sparingly while enjoying a life filled with gaming and selective wrestling appearances.
So why was Breeze at Worlds End? Simply put, he was visiting old friends. Living in Orlando makes it easy for Breeze to swing by events, and with no indication that he’s looking to sign with AEW (or anyone else), this was purely a social call. His current WWE agreement and UpUpDownDown commitments make an All Elite move nearly impossible at this time.
After his WWE departure, Breeze stepped back from wrestling to rehab nagging injuries and rediscover his passion for the business. Since returning, he’s been lighting up indie promotions like GCW, Prestige Wrestling, and DPW, often alongside his old tag team partner Dirty Dango (aka Fandango). His latest match saw the duo team up at Next Generation Wrestling, reminding fans why they were such a beloved act in WWE.
For now, Breeze seems perfectly content playing the game—both literally and figuratively—on his own terms.
