Brace yourselves, wrestling fans—Tony Khan has done it again! The AEW head honcho, professional social media over-sharer, and walking exclamation point generator is delivering a stacked card for “AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen” on January 1, 2024. Not only will this episode double as the company’s streaming debut on MAX, but it’s being billed as “The Mother of All Simulcasts.” Truly a name that only Khan could deliver without irony.

In a shocking twist (or exactly the level of twist we expect from AEW), Tony announced that freshly-angry Orange Cassidy will face Hangman Page in a first-time-ever singles match. Why? Because Hangman ruined Cassidy’s dreams at Worlds End by costing him the AEW World Championship. Was it personal? Was it cowboy shenanigans? Who cares! It’s wrestling, and now they’re going to fight on live TV and streaming platforms everywhere.

But wait, there’s more! The post-Worlds End chaos continues as Jon Moxley teams up with Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli to face Rated FTR—Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, and a certain Rated-R Superstar, Adam Copeland. Why are they teaming up? Because when you add FTR and Copeland together, you apparently get “Rated FTR,” and Tony Khan clearly cannot resist a good mash-up name. Meanwhile, Moxley and his Death Riders want revenge on Switchblade Jay White, who shockingly Blade-Runnered Marina Shafir at Worlds End. (Yes, you read that right. Marina Shafir!)

Also on the card, Julia Hart finally steps into the ring to settle her spooky business with Jamie Hayter, while Jeff Jarrett is scheduled to make an “important announcement.” Speculation suggests this announcement could involve his retirement plans, though knowing Jarrett, it could just as easily involve slapnuts, guitars, or a third run with the AEW International Title.

January 1 is shaping up to be a wild night of wrestling—and Tony Khan probably hasn’t even finished tweeting about it yet.
