A new year means new moves for All Elite Wrestling, and 2025 is already shaping up to be a game-changer. With AEW’s new media deal with Warner Brothers Discovery kicking off this week, AEW Dynamite has secured yet another platform: reruns will now air Fridays at 10 PM on TruTV.

The reruns start January 12, just days after the January 8 episode of Dynamite, which features the highly anticipated return of the Casino Gauntlet match. The stakes couldn’t be higher, as the winner will earn a shot at Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship during the Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite on January 15.

Why TruTV?

TruTV, a WBD-owned channel best known for its blend of comedy and offbeat reality programming, is inching closer to becoming a hub for sports content. While rumors swirled last year about TruTV rebranding as “TNT Sports,” the network currently operates similarly to Adult Swim, offering blocks of alternative programming.

The choice of TruTV isn’t surprising; during the AEW-WBD negotiations, the network emerged as a candidate for hosting AEW programming. Its new Friday night block fills the timeslot once occupied by AEW Rampage on TNT. This move strengthens AEW’s presence on WBD channels, giving viewers another chance to catch their favorite matches and storylines.

The Bigger Picture

While AEW’s Dynamite reruns find a home on TruTV, questions linger about the future of Ring of Honor (ROH), Tony Khan’s other wrestling venture. ROH remains exclusive to HonorClub, but WBD’s involvement with AEW raises the possibility of ROH securing its own broadcast deal. For now, TruTV appears focused solely on AEW, but fans are hopeful this could pave the way for ROH to step into the televised spotlight.

For AEW fans, TruTV’s rerun schedule offers a second chance to catch Dynamite’s action-packed episodes. And with the first airing featuring the Casino Gauntlet match, it’s a safe bet the excitement will be off the charts.
