Omos has done it again—but this time, not in a WWE ring. The towering giant ended a three-year championship drought early Wednesday morning by capturing the GHC Tag Team Championships in Pro Wrestling NOAH alongside his partner, Jack Morris, at the promotion’s The New Year event.
Omos’ Giant Victory
Omos and Morris triumphed over the legendary duo of Naomichi Marufuji and Takashi Sugiura, with Omos securing the pinfall by delivering a devastating two-handed chokeslam to Marufuji. This victory marks Omos’ first title win since holding the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships with AJ Styles in April 2021.
Following the match, Omos wasted no time asserting his dominance, declaring himself the first-ever “Super Megaweight” in wrestling.
“I am the best living giant. There’s no one alive better than me. From now on, I am the ‘Super Megaweight’ of this world. Nobody can touch me, nobody can see me.”
A Career Resurgence
Omos’ win comes during a period of uncertainty in his WWE career. Since his clash with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 40, Omos has seen limited action in WWE, appearing only six times on TV or premium live events in 2023. His last documented WWE match was in April 2024 at the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.
Now, as a member of Team 2000X—which includes Morris, Daga, GHC World Champion Taishi Ozawa, and former WWE star Yoshitatsu—Omos seems poised for a fresh chapter. His GHC Tag Title victory could reignite his career, showcasing his dominance in a new arena.
What’s Next for Omos?
With this milestone achievement in Pro Wrestling NOAH, questions loom about Omos’ future. Will this partnership with Team 2000X lead to more gold in Japan, or could it pave the way for a triumphant return to WWE? One thing’s certain: the “Super Megaweight” is determined to make 2025 his year.
