Ladies and gentlemen, mark your calendars for January 15! AEW’s “Dynamite: Maximum Carnage” promises to deliver more drama than a family reunion at Thanksgiving as HOOK and Christian Cage square off in what’s being billed as a grudge match of biblical proportions.

HOOK, the silent-but-violent progeny of Taz, has been living rent-free in Christian Cage’s head ever since Cage’s gang of wrestling misfits, The Patriarchy, turned Taz into a parking lot pancake back in October. Cage, ever the scheming stepdad of AEW, might be dodging direct conflict with HOOK, but he’s been holding onto his trusty “Next AEW World Champion” contract like a squirrel hoarding nuts for winter. Could this wildcard shake up the evening? Absolutely.

Meanwhile, HOOK has been doing what he does best: suplexing, snarling, and making Nick Wayne’s life miserable. After a victorious bout against Wayne on the latest “Dynamite,” HOOK declared that he’s not here for Christian Cage’s fatherly lectures or sweater collection. But let’s not forget, Cage technically has a win over HOOK, thanks to a December tag team victory where Wayne and Cage pulled off some holiday chicanery against HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata.

As if that’s not enough drama, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will also defend his title that night. Could Cage’s contract come into play, creating chaos that only he thrives in? Or will HOOK finally take Cage to “Redrum School of Hard Knocks”?
