Break out the leather jackets and steel chairs, folks. WWE is getting nostalgic—and streaming it straight into your living room.

With WWE Raw making its Netflix debut on January 6, the company decided to tap into the glory days of the Attitude Era, revamping its iconic 1997 intro with today’s megastars. And let me tell you, if the idea of Roman Reigns walking through fire while “Thorn In Your Eye” blasts in the background doesn’t get you hyped, you might need to check your pulse.

A Nostalgic Smash-Up of Eras

The new video reimagines the chaotic montage that first defined Raw Is War. Back in the day, it featured explosions, barbed wire, and a level of chaos that screamed, “Yes, we know wrestling’s not subtle.” Now, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Cody Rhodes, and Sami Zayn are thrown into the same frenetic energy, delivering attitude with a capital “A.”

Oh, and did we mention Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shows up? Because what’s an Attitude Era homage without its Brahma Bull? Sure, he’s technically part-time these days, but even a two-second shot of him raising that famous eyebrow adds just enough nostalgia to make you misty-eyed.

The Music That Rocked a Generation

Slam Jam’s “Thorn In Your Eye” is back, tearing through speakers like it’s 1997 all over again. Performed by a ragtag group of metal legends from bands like Pro-Pain and Anthrax, the song captured the chaos and energy of Raw’s most rebellious years.

This homage will be short-lived, though. Starting in April 2025, the red brand will feature a brand-new theme from rapper Travis Scott, ushering in a fresh Netflix era. It’s a bold move, but hey, we’ll always have the headbanging glory of Slam Jam.

What to Expect on Netflix

The premiere of Raw on Netflix will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. It’s a stacked card featuring Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and even CM Punk (because of course he’s here for the nostalgia). Pat McAfee and Michael Cole will provide commentary, undoubtedly losing their minds over every steel chair and stunner.

For long-time fans, this intro isn’t just a promo—it’s a portal to the days of Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Monday Night Wars, and yelling “Suck It!” when you absolutely shouldn’t. For newer fans, it’s proof that Raw has always been about pushing boundaries—and occasionally throwing someone into a flaming dumpster.

So, grab your popcorn, crank the volume, and prepare to relive the magic of Raw—Attitude Era style.
