The Netflix debut of WWE Raw delivered surprises, but none as shocking as Jey Uso scoring an upset victory over Drew McIntyre in their grudge match. Despite being overpowered for most of the bout, Uso’s resilience and quick thinking earned him a hard-fought win, leaving McIntyre—and the audience—in disbelief.

The Battle for Redemption

The tension between McIntyre and Uso has been building since Survivor Series, where McIntyre vowed vengeance against The Original Bloodline. After dispatching Sami Zayn in December, McIntyre turned his sights on Uso, the final piece in his revenge quest.

From the outset, McIntyre dominated with his trademark powerhouse offense. A Future Shock DDT and a near-fall Claymore seemed to spell doom for Uso, but the gritty underdog refused to stay down. A Spear from Uso ignited hope but only managed another near-fall, leaving the crowd on edge as the action escalated.

The Shocking Finish

McIntyre, visibly frustrated, unloaded everything in his arsenal, including a Glasgow Kiss and another setup for his devastating Claymore. However, his split-second hesitation to reposition proved to be his undoing. Seizing the moment, Uso countered with a lightning-fast roll-up, shocking McIntyre and securing the three-count.

Uso quickly retreated up the ramp, celebrating his improbable win, while McIntyre was left fuming in the ring.

The Underdog Triumphs

This victory not only gave Uso a defining moment in his singles career but also showed that his days of being underestimated are over. Meanwhile, McIntyre’s quest for vengeance is far from finished, setting the stage for even more intense confrontations in the weeks to come.
