The WWE Women’s U.S. Championship might be brand new, but Chelsea Green is proving she knows all the classic tricks to hold onto it. On WWE SmackDown, Green defended her title against long-time rival Michin, and let’s just say it wasn’t exactly a textbook example of sportsmanship.

The match began with Michin wasting no time, looking to hit Eat Defeat faster than Green could yell, “Karen’s manager!” The two went to war in and out of the ring, with Michin gaining the upper hand thanks to her explosive offense. But no title match involving Green would be complete without some extracurricular chaos. Enter Piper Niven, Green’s tag partner and human insurance policy, who attempted to interfere but got a face full of Michin’s boot for her trouble.

Michin followed up with a highlight-reel front flip senton off the apron, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Momentum firmly on her side, Michin connected with a crossbody. But in a twist as sneaky as it was decisive, Green rolled through, grabbed Michin’s tights, and snagged the three-count to retain her title.

Because shenanigans can’t stop there, Niven added an exclamation point by flattening Michin with a running senton post-match. That’s one way to say, “thanks for coming!”

With the win, Green extends her singles record against Michin to 2-1 and reinforces that being champion isn’t about how you win—it’s just about winning. Michin, meanwhile, has every reason to demand another shot, though she might need eyes in the back of her head if Niven plans on sticking around.

Stay tuned to see if this rivalry has a fourth chapter or if Green will keep ducking challengers behind Niven’s massive shadow.
