Pack your sunscreen, wrestling fans, because WWE is bringing the heat—literally and figuratively—to Saudi Arabia with some major events on the horizon. While the Kingdom eagerly awaits the Royal Rumble in Riyadh in 2026, it turns out they won’t have to twiddle their thumbs for that long.

According to Fightful Select, WWE has an event scheduled for Jeddah in June 2025. This marks WWE’s triumphant return to hosting a summer show in Saudi Arabia, the first since the Super Showdown in 2019. The name of the event remains a mystery, but knowing WWE, we can assume it’ll involve some combination of the words Crown, Jewel, Greatest, and Showdown.

WWE’s last Saudi extravaganza was the Crown Jewel event, where Cody Rhodes and Liv Morgan defied the odds (and Gunther and Nia Jax) to become the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Champions. Yes, even the belts are shiny in the Kingdom.

A Royal Milestone

Saudi Arabia’s Royal Rumble in 2026 will be historic, marking the first time this iconic match happens internationally. Not even Canada—home of poutine and countless WWE legends—has hosted the January spectacle in its 39-year history. Somewhere in Toronto, Bret Hart is probably shaking his head.

The Rumble announcement also coincides with WWE’s blossoming relationship with Saudi Arabia’s General Sports Authority, thanks to a lucrative 10-year deal. So far, there have been 12 Premium Live Events in the Kingdom, each one somehow managing to outdo the last in sheer spectacle, pyro, and the occasional “Wait, THAT match is happening?” surprise.

And that’s not all, folks. WWE recently launched the WWE Experience in Riyadh, a multimedia attraction that gives fans a chance to feel like a WWE Superstar—without the steel chairs, suplexes, and travel delays.

The Bigger Picture

Beyond wrestling, WWE’s parent company, TKO Group Holdings, is expanding its horizons in Saudi Arabia. Partnering with the Saudi Public Investment Fund, TKO is venturing into boxing promotions alongside its MMA and rodeo brands. If you’ve ever wondered what a hybrid Hell in a Rodeo Ring match might look like, we’re inching closer to that bizarre reality.

For now, Saudi Arabia’s WWE fandom has plenty to look forward to. With Royal Rumbles, mystery Jeddah shows, and championship gold on the line, the Kingdom is becoming a global hub for sports entertainment—and possibly the most pyro-friendly destination on Earth.
