While AEW Dynamite was lighting up the screen with high-flying moonsaults and The Hurt Syndicate snagging the AEW World Tag Team Championships, one curious moment took place off-camera. Long-time TNA star and former Digital Media Champion, Crazzy Steve, made an appearance during the dark match, facing off against Serpentico.

The appearance, while unexpected, has raised plenty of questions about Steve’s current status with TNA, particularly since he’s still listed on the promotion’s website. But according to Fightful Select, Crazzy Steve and TNA actually parted ways amicably in 2024, with no plans for his return. This makes him a free agent and eligible to appear on AEW programming — though his loss to Serpentico suggests this could’ve been more of a one-off appearance rather than a tryout for a permanent spot.

Even with this AEW showing, Crazzy Steve hasn’t been sitting idle since his last TNA appearance in April 2024. The unpredictable performer has kept busy with steady bookings across the U.S. and Mexico, including an impressive stint in Lucha Libre AAA. Teaming up with Jessica Havok, the duo captured the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships in October before dropping the titles two months later.

While it’s unclear if AEW sees long-term potential in Steve, one thing’s for sure: the unorthodox star will find a ring to call home, whether in AEW, back in Mexico, or elsewhere.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
