Tom Pestock, formerly known to WWE fans as Baron Corbin, is rebranding himself in the world of professional wrestling. Pestock, who made his independent wrestling debut under his real name earlier this month, has filed a trademark for the name Bishop Dyer, signaling a potential shift in his in-ring persona.

While his plans for the future remain under wraps, Pestock has expressed interest in wrestling in Japan, even hinting that his career could find its next chapter in NJPW. During a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Pestock spoke about his desire to wrestle in Japan, saying he hopes to spend at least a year, if not longer, competing there.

Pestock recently stepped out of WWE’s spotlight and into the indie scene at The People vs. GCW event on January 19. Competing in a Bloodsport-style match against Josh Barnett — where the ring has no ropes and the rules are inspired by MMA — Pestock came up short. The event marked his first match outside of WWE, held at the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

After a 12-year career with WWE, Pestock built an impressive resume, from winning the King of the Ring tournament to famously retiring Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35. While some fans still debate the merits of his “Happy Corbin” phase (more casino vibes, fewer victories), there’s no denying his ability to adapt and evolve — and this new chapter could be his most intriguing reinvention yet.
