Get ready, wrestling fans! The wait for Samoa Joe’s in-ring return is almost over, and AEW President Tony Khan has made it official: Joe will face rising star Nick Wayne on the January 25th “Homecoming” edition of AEW Collision. The match was initially scheduled for last week’s Dynamite, but bad weather said, “Nope!” Mother Nature may be undefeated, but now Joe’s ready to get back in the ring at AEW’s stomping grounds, Daily’s Place, for the first time in nine months.

Joe’s Triumphant Return

This will mark Samoa Joe’s first AEW match in six months. His last bout was the absolutely chaotic Stampede Street Fight against Chris Jericho in July 2024. (If you missed it, just imagine tables, chairs, and enough carnage to make your grandma clutch her pearls.)

For Nick Wayne, this match could be the opportunity of a lifetime—or a Samoan Submission Machine-shaped nightmare. Either way, it’s a high-stakes showdown that’s bound to deliver.

Stacked Card, Anyone?

Joe vs. Wayne is just the start of what’s shaping up to be an absolutely loaded night:

  • Konosuke Takeshita defends the AEW International Championship against the hard-hitting Katsuyori Shibata. Expect kicks that sound like gunshots.
  • The Undisputed Kingdom takes on Cool Hand Angelo Parker, Daddy Magic Matt Menard, and Daniel Garcia. If you’re a fan of chaos (and dance moves), this one’s for you.
  • The Gates of Agony square off against Brody King and Buddy Matthews in a post-House of Black showdown. Friendships may be gone, but grudges are forever.
  • Toni Storm finally meets Mariah May face-to-face, in what we can only assume will be equal parts shade-throwing and fireworks.
  • A four-way battle between Yuka Sakazaki, Deonna Purrazzo, Queen Aminata, and Serena Deeb will decide who challenges Mercedes Mone for the AEW TBS Championship next week. (That’s enough talent for two matches!)
