Fourth time’s the charm? Not for Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend. Despite another valiant effort (and another very close call), the Meta-Four duo once again walked away not holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Bianca Belair and Naomi, however? Still champions, still dominant, still making every match look way too easy.

At one point, it looked like Jackson and Legend might finally pull it off. They leveled Naomi with a neckbreaker-facebuster combo and were this close to a three-count. But just when the dream seemed real, Bianca Belair stormed in like a human wrecking ball, broke up the pin, and changed the course of the match.

The final moments saw Belair send Legend flying through the ropes, leaving Jackson all alone to fend off the champs. Naomi flipped a roll-up into a two-count, and before Jackson even had time to process what was happening, she was getting hit with a double KOD from the power duo. One, two, three—game over. Belair and Naomi retain.

That’s now two straight televised title defenses for the champs, after first defeating Nia Jax and Candice LeRae on SmackDown. Naomi stepped in as Belair’s partner last month after Jade Cargill was taken out backstage (because nobody in WWE can have a peaceful day at work). And while Cargill’s return is still a mystery, Belair and Naomi are proving they don’t need a backup plan.

As for Jackson and Legend? Four shots at gold and four losses. Maybe the fifth time will be the charm… but at this point, they might need to Meta-Four-get about those titles for a while.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
