Folks, it’s happening. The unstoppable Oba Femi is defending his NXT Championship against not one, but two main roster stars at Vengeance Day. Because apparently, one challenger just isn’t enough for this absolute unit of a champion.

During a chaotic episode of NXT, Femi found himself on The Grayson Waller Effect, where Waller and Austin Theory—otherwise known as A-Town Down Under (because branding is hard)—decided to belittle Femi’s reign. Waller, ever the humble statesman, questioned whether the hype surrounding Femi was real. Femi, a man of action over words, naturally took offense and was ready to throw hands.

But wait! Enter NXT General Manager Ava, who, as always, had to remind Femi that he does not have the power to book his own matches—despite being a walking demolition crew. Just when things seemed like they were settling down, former champion Trick Williams crashed the scene, stared Femi down like he just stole his lunch money, and then proceeded to beat up Theory and Waller. Not to be outdone, Femi obliterated Williams to put an exclamation point on the night.

Later, Ava—perhaps realizing she wasn’t doing enough to make Femi’s life miserable—informed him that his next title defense would be a triple threat against both Theory and Waller at Vengeance Day. And in a twist that surely has Trick Williams questioning his life choices, he was left out of the equation completely.

So there you have it: Femi vs. Waller vs. Theory in a match that could either be a star-making performance for the champ or a very elaborate two-on-one handicap match in disguise. Either way, Vengeance Day just got a whole lot more vengeful.
