Ace Austin — magician, X-Division dominator, and part-time aerial stuntman — has been flipping, kicking, and thriving in TNA Wrestling for six years straight, which in wrestling years is roughly the equivalent of three presidential terms and two meteor impacts.
Since debuting in 2019, back when TNA was still called Impact Wrestling (because wrestling companies love a good identity crisis), Ace has racked up more gold than a cartoon treasure hunter. Three-time X-Division Champ? ✅ Winner of the Super X Cup in 2021? ✅ Three-time World Tag Team Champ with Chris Bey as part of ABC, the Bullet Club’s alphabetically pleasing branch? ✅✅✅
But, dear reader, there’s a storm brewing. Ace’s current TNA contract is reportedly almost up, and while TNA is “very eager” to keep him (translation: they are throwing friendship bracelets and money at him), nobody knows for sure if the pen has hit the paper yet.
Fightful Select, which has more backstage tea than a British soap opera, reports that talks are happening… somewhere… somehow… probably. Maybe. Look, it’s wrestling, things are fluid. Like a Slip ‘N Slide made of uncertainty.
Austin re-signed back in March 2024, but the exact expiration date of that deal is classified tighter than Area 51. Same situation for his tag partner Chris Bey, whose contract is also up soon — although after Bey’s unfortunate neck injury last fall that briefly paralyzed him, TNA is reportedly handling his future with extra care, compassion, and hopefully lots of bubble wrap.
In the meantime, Ace has been holding down TNA TV appearances like a champion — even if he lost early in the International Championship tournament (brackets are cruel mistresses). When he’s not shining on TNA, he’s collecting belts and indie glory, winning the Wrestling REVOLVER Championship for six months and nearly snagging the DPW Worlds Heavyweight Title from Jake Something (who, for the record, is definitely Someone).
With ABC on pause and The Rascalz filling the void, Ace Austin is still flying high — but the million-dollar question remains:
Will he stay? Or will he flip?
Tune in next week. Or next month. Or whenever someone finally signs something.
