Grab your flip-flops and steel chairs, because AEW’s Beach Break 2025 is officially landing in… Chicago. Again. Pro wrestling’s favorite landlocked surf party is returning on May 14, and yes, it’s indoors, nowhere near a beach, and will feature more suplexes than sunscreen.
The event will take place at the NOW Arena—not to be confused with a beach, or an actual break from anything. Originally scheduled as a regular Dynamite taping, AEW has upgraded the date to full-on Beach Break status, continuing a tradition of summertime branding with wintertime logic.
Also announced:
🌴 A special AEW Collision taping will follow Dynamite that night, giving fans in attendance a double-dose of neck trauma and promo fireworks.
💸 Meanwhile, Wichita, Kansas—which was set to host that week’s live Collision—has been left high, dry, and refund-eligible. AEW promises that all previously purchased tickets for INTRUST Bank Arena will be refunded at the point of purchase.
This marks the latest change in a rapidly evolving schedule across AEW and ROH:
-
ROH’s Supercard of Honor now shares July 11 with your vacation plans
-
Death Before Dishonor relocated to the hallowed bloodstained floors of the ECW Arena
-
AEW Beach Break moves inland, proving that palm trees are more of a mindset than a geographic reality
Oh, and it’s not just May being messy.
After Double or Nothing on May 25, AEW is turning June into a binge-watch bonanza. Four-hour blocks will air on TBS on both June 4 and June 11, and there will be no Collision episodes the following Saturdays—either to give wrestlers time to recover or simply to avoid competing with literal backyard barbecues.
AEW may not be on the beach, but they’re definitely in their booking bag.
