Friday night on WWE SmackDown, just when The Miz was about to filibuster the entire arena into a deep, possibly irreversible coma, Aleister Black returned — like an avenging ghost who had had enough of Miz’s TED Talk energy.

It all started innocently enough: The Miz, sporting a chip on his shoulder the size of Cleveland, grabbed a microphone to vent his WrestleMania-sized feelings. He was BIG MAD about being left off the WrestleMania 41 card, despite the fact he’s been “essential to WrestleMania since 2007” — which is a weird flex for a guy who once lost a match because a celebrity rapper got involved.

Miz then took a flamethrower to the entire roster. He trashed El Grande Americano vs. Rey Fenix because “they’ve only been here five minutes,” and absolutely bodied TNA Champion Joe Hendry, calling him a “musical theater meme.” (Somewhere, Joe Hendry was already writing a diss track called “Miz Sucks Eggs.”)

Just as Miz was working himself into a foamy rage spiral, the lights went out — and the arena collectively stopped pretending to care what he was saying.

Cue Aleister Black.

Returning with his original entrance — which is basically if a Black Metal album cover could walk — and a haunting remix of his old theme, Black rose from the darkness like a Gothic superhero whose mission was immediate Miz destruction.

Miz, being Miz, tried to speak.
Black, being Black, responded with a Black Mass so vicious it looked like Miz owed him three months’ rent.

The crowd exploded.
The Miz folded like a lawn chair at a garage sale.

Just like that, Aleister Black was back on SmackDown, no monologue, no cryptic speeches — just vibes and violence. 🖤

For those keeping score at home: Black officially wrapped up with AEW earlier this year after first joining WWE back in 2016, leaving in 2021, and now returning right when The Miz needed a nap the most.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
