Folks, it’s 2025, and somehow, some fans still don’t understand that “kayfabe” does not include stalking. WWE’s Asuka, beloved for her high-energy performances and also, you know, being a human being, recently had to call the police over a scary fan interaction. And no, it wasn’t someone booing too loudly during a promo—it was bad enough that she felt unsafe.

After initially posting a warning to social media rejecting romantic or personal approaches (yes, she actually had to spell that out), Asuka later clarified that she had an encounter that made her “feel in danger” and led to her calling the authorities. But thankfully, she just provided another update: WWE and TKO are stepping up to protect her. Because if anyone deserves to be protected, it’s the Empress of Tomorrow—especially when she’s just trying to recover from an injury in peace.

Asuka hasn’t wrestled since Backlash: France last year, where she and Kairi Sane lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships after she suffered a knee injury. And while WWE has been piecing together creative plans for her return, nobody was expecting this kind of plot twist.

Unfortunately, Asuka isn’t the first wrestler to deal with fans pushing the limits. CM Punk has previously had to explain that an airport is not a WWE Axxess event, and at this point, wrestlers probably need to start handing out pamphlets on “How Not to Be Creepy in Public.”

Let’s hope WWE and TKO’s actions send a clear message: enjoy the show, respect the performers, and most importantly—if you see a wrestler in public, maybe just wave and go about your day.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
