AEW’s women’s division drama continued last week on Dynamite, as Thunder Rosa stormed the ring with a chair, ready to even the odds against Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. There was just one problem—Bayne and Ford didn’t seem fazed at all, leading to one of the most awkward stare-downs since someone tried to make “This is fine” their personal catchphrase in real life.

So, What Went Wrong?

According to Fightful Select, the awkwardness wasn’t due to bad acting or Rosa suddenly deciding she was a pacifist—it was a miscommunication from an AEW backstage coach or producer. Apparently, no one bothered to tell the talent where they were supposed to stand in the segment. So, while Rosa showed up looking like she was about to go full ECW, Bayne and Ford were out here standing their ground like they were waiting for their Uber.

The good news? There’s no actual backstage heat between the women—just a classic case of AEW’s producers forgetting to CC everyone on the email.

The Feud So Far: Chair Drama and F-5s

This wasn’t the first time Rosa, Bayne, and Ford have clashed. Their issues started on Collision when Bayne gave Rosa the coldest shoulder of all time backstage, then proceeded to F-5 her into next week after Rosa defeated Ford in a singles match. Ford even got in on the action, ambushing Rosa after the match.

Now, with Dynamite’s confusing post-match moment behind them, Kris Statlander has entered the chat. She and Rosa had a backstage segment on Collision where Statlander thanked Rosa for helping her—then strongly encouraged her to actually start swinging next time.

Tag Match Incoming?

As of now, AEW hasn’t announced a match, but all signs point to Rosa and Statlander teaming up to take on Bayne and Ford sooner rather than later. If so, here’s hoping AEW’s production team actually tells them what’s supposed to happen this time.
