Losing a championship match is rough. Losing the same championship match twice? That’s the kind of thing that makes you rethink your life choices—or, if you’re Dakota Kai, it just fuels the fire.
This past Monday on WWE Raw, Kai stepped up to challenge Lyra Valkyria for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Despite bringing the fight, she found herself on the wrong end of a Night Wing and watched Valkyria walk away once again with the gold.
Fall Down. Get Up. Repeat.
Instead of sulking in a corner or sending cryptic tweets about “deserving better,” Kai did something different—she embraced Valkyria post-match in a rare show of sportsmanship. Then, she took to social media to drop a simple but powerful message:
“Fall down. Get up. Fall down. Get up. Fall down… GET. UP.”
If perseverance had a Twitter handle, it would be @DakotaKai_WWE.
A Tough Road Back to the Top
Kai’s career has been defined by resilience. After all, this wasn’t just about losing to Valkyria twice—she’s also fought through multiple injuries over the past year. Between a torn ACL, a torn meniscus, and a concussion to kick off 2025, Kai has spent more time rehabbing than wrestling. And yet, she keeps getting up.
But while Kai now has to regroup, Lyra Valkyria has a new problem—one named Ivy Nile. No sooner had Kai left ringside did Nile blindside Valkyria, leaving the champion laid out and holding up the Women’s Intercontinental Title in a not-so-subtle “this is mine now” declaration.
What’s Next for Dakota Kai?
With Nile stepping up as the next challenger, Kai’s road back to the title just got even longer. But if her latest mantra tells us anything, it’s that this loss won’t define her. She’s been knocked down before—but she always gets back up.
