The Motor City Machine Guns walked into the Royal Rumble looking for justice. What they got instead? A big ol’ dose of WWE-style shenanigans.
Facing Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa in a two-out-of-three falls match for the WWE Tag Team Championships, MCMG had one goal—win back the belts they lost in December thanks to some sketchy tactics. But DIY had another plan: more of the same.
How It Went Down:
✔️ DIY took the first fall thanks to a sneaky phantom tag that left Alex Shelley wide open for a brutal running knee from Ciampa.
✔️ MCMG fought back, evening the score after shutting down Ciampa’s attempt at another “surprise attack” from under the ring.
✔️ Chris Sabin absorbed everything—Fairytale Ending, Project Ciampa—and somehow still kicked out at two. DIY nearly closed things with an Air Raid Crash, but Shelley and Sabin turned it around, hitting a double-team blockbuster for their own near-fall.
✔️ And then? Enter the Street Profits. While the ref was distracted, Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins appeared armed with crutches and took out MCMG. With the damage done, DIY sealed the win… only for the Profits to take them out afterward and leave holding the belts.
So, what’s next? Did DIY know this was coming? Are the Profits sending a message of their own? And most importantly—when will MCMG finally get a fair shot? Stay tuned, because this tag division is officially a mess.
