Drew McIntyre’s return to SmackDown was about as subtle as a Claymore Kick to the face—because that’s exactly what happened. The Scottish Psychopath made his blue brand comeback official by wrecking LA Knight and Jimmy Uso in an Elimination Chamber qualifier, securing his spot in the high-stakes match at Elimination Chamber on March 1.
With Jey Uso already locked into the WrestleMania main event thanks to his Royal Rumble win, the Chamber match will decide who gets the second golden ticket to challenge WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. So far, John Cena (because of course), CM Punk (because chaos), and now McIntyre (because violence) are in. And let’s just say, Drew didn’t politely qualify—he yanked his way into the match with the finesse of a wrecking ball.
How to Steal a Win: The Drew McIntyre Edition
It looked like Jimmy Uso had the match won over LA Knight—until McIntyre decided, “Nah,” and literally plucked the referee out of the ring mid-count. Not to be outdone, Knight managed to turn the tables on Uso and lined him up for the Blunt Force Trauma… but before he could finish the job, McIntyre Claymored him into next week and stole the pin. Ruthless. Efficient. Borderline illegal? Maybe. But effective? Absolutely.
The Road to the Chamber Fills Up
McIntyre now joins Cena and Punk in the Chamber, with more spots up for grabs:
- Monday Night Raw: Rey Mysterio vs. Logan Paul (Prediction: Paul probably wins with shenanigans because, well, Logan Paul.)
- Next Friday on SmackDown: Braun Strowman vs. Damian Priest vs. Jacob Fatu (Prediction: Absolute mayhem.)
- Final Qualifier (Raw): Finn Bálor vs. Seth Rollins (Prediction: Finn brings The Judgment Day, Seth brings the drip.)
McIntyre made it very clear that his switch to SmackDown was all about targeting Cody Rhodes, and with each match, it’s looking more and more like he might just get his wish. One thing’s for sure—Elimination Chamber is going to be a warzone.
