Fuego Del Sol has been flipping, flying, and lucha-ing his way through AEW and ROH for years, but if his latest message is anything to go by, his time under Tony Khan’s umbrella might be coming to an end.

The masked high-flyer took to X (formerly known as Twitter, still known as a lawless land) to promote his upcoming match against Blake Christian on ROH on HonorClub (February 27). And in the process, he dropped a bombshell:

“Pay the HonorClub sub price and watch this, because it’s quite possibly the last time you’ll ever see Fuego in an ROH/AEW ring so I’m going to make it a good one!”

That’s right, folks. This might be Fuego’s farewell match.

SO WHY IS HE LEAVING?

At the time of writing, there’s no official reason why Fuego is seemingly wrapping up his AEW/ROH run. But one thing’s for sure—he’s not under contract.

“I haven’t been under contract with them since July of 2023,” he clarified. Yet he’s still been wrestling on ROH TV, dark matches before AEW shows, and even popped up on Rampage.

But now? It sounds like that door might be closing.

FUEGO’S JOURNEY: FROM DARK TO DARK MATCHES

🔥 Debuted on AEW Dark/Dark: Elevation
🔥 Earned a contract in 2021 after facing Miro on AEW Rampage (and getting a surprise contract announcement from his buddy Sammy Guevara)
🔥 Spent two years flipping his way into fans’ hearts
🔥 Wrestled sporadically in ROH & AEW dark matches post-contract
🔥 Now? One last ride against Blake Christian.

FINAL THOUGHTS: FAREWELL (FOR NOW?)

Whether this is truly his last AEW/ROH match or just a temporary break, one thing’s for sure: he’s going to make it a good one.

If you’re a Fuego fan, consider this your “last call” to watch him in an AEW-affiliated ring. And if he does return? Well, let’s just say masked wrestlers have a habit of making surprise comebacks. (Looking at you, Exalted One rumors from 2020.)
