BREAKING: The countdown to one last entrance full of sparks, smoke, and middle-aged intensity has officially begun. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter—and he’s rarely wrong unless he’s very wrong—Bill Goldberg is training for his retirement match, and he’s doing it Texas-style: surrounded by Von Erichs, football cleats, and the ghost of kayfabe past.

The WCW icon and WWE Hall of Famer is shaking off whatever ring rust is still clinging to his traps and lats, reportedly training with Ross and Marshall Von Erich, their legendary dad Kevin, and former K-1 brawler Tyrone Spong, whose name sounds like a punch and probably feels like one too.

🏈 Family Ties & Football Cleats

Both Goldberg and Kevin Von Erich now live in Boerne, Texas—not because of wrestling, but because apparently Boerne is where all great wrestling legacies go to chill and watch high school football. Goldberg’s son and Kevin’s grandson both play under the Friday night lights, which is either poetic or just extremely Texas.

🎯 August Target: SummerSlam Spear-a-thon?

Whispers backstage suggest Goldberg’s retirement match could hit as early as SummerSlam in August. And if current tea leaves are correct, it might be against WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER, the Ring General of Vienna and one of the few people on Earth who might actually welcome a 50mph spear to the gut.

Let’s not forget, the two nearly squared off at Bad Blood last October—a staredown so intense it registered on the Richter scale before security rushed in like overbooked referees at a discount MMA show.

Goldberg’s last official match was back in 2022’s Elimination Chamber, where he got Roman Reigns’d in six short minutes. Now, two years later, he’s ready to go out swinging—or more accurately, charging.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
