In news that shocked and saddened the wrestling world, former ROH World Champion and TNA Tag Team Champion Homicide has announced that he is officially retiring from in-ring competition. While many fans were initially puzzled by his sudden departure, Homicide has now revealed the real reason behind his decision—a serious health issue that has been worsening over time.

Homicide’s Battle Outside the Ring

One day before his final match, Homicide took to Facebook to explain his situation, revealing that doctors discovered a cyst in his brain that has been impacting his vision and speech. Years of taking brutal shots to the head and constant travel only worsened the condition, making it clear that his hard-hitting style had taken its toll.

“Reason I’m leaving cause I went to my Doctor and found cyst my brain,” Homicide wrote. “Had it for months getting worst. My vision, speech is bad. Cause the hard hitting getting knock out and hitting a plane to travel.”

Despite the severity of his condition, Homicide isn’t looking for sympathy—he wants his final match to be a celebration.

“I want people to party, and smile, except for Afa Jr.,” he joked. “I’m survivor, I always win bS battles, bottom my heart. Thank you for your support. This not a goodbye. This is I see you later.”

One Final Match, But a Legacy That Lives On

Homicide’s last match takes place on March 20, where he will team up with former WWE star Bull James to take on TNA’s Mike Santana & Afa Jr. While this will be his last in-ring battle, his impact on professional wrestling will never fade.

In recognition of his legendary career, AEW has released an “ROH Timelines: Homicide” special on YouTube, highlighting some of his greatest moments—including his wars against Bryan Danielson and other ROH greats.

This isn’t the end—it’s just “See you later.” And if we know Homicide, he’ll still be fighting battles and breaking rules somewhere in the wrestling world.
