The January 27 edition of WWE Raw delivered a thrilling World Tag Team Championship match but left fans and wrestlers alike concerned after a frightening moment involving JD McDonagh.

During the title match between The War Raiders and The Judgment Day, McDonagh attempted a springboard moonsault to the outside. However, the move ended disastrously when his head and neck snapped against the edge of the announce table upon landing. Though WWE personnel immediately checked on him, McDonagh somehow managed to finish the match, showcasing an almost superhuman level of toughness.

Reports from Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer revealed that McDonagh was rushed to the hospital as soon as he got backstage. Initial fears centered around a possible concussion or neck injury, but Alvarez noted that the primary concern is damage to McDonagh’s ribs. McDonagh reportedly collapsed as he got through the curtain, adding to the gravity of the situation. Updates on his condition are expected in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the War Raiders successfully defended their titles by pinning Dominik Mysterio, their first defense since dethroning McDonagh and Finn Balor in December. With Judgment Day’s title aspirations seemingly sidelined and McDonagh’s medical status in question, the faction’s future looks more uncertain than ever.

As for The War Raiders, their next challengers are still unclear, but teams like American Made, Alpha Academy, and The New Day could step up to claim their shot at tag team gold.

McDonagh’s resilience in finishing the match is nothing short of commendable, but this incident serves as a reminder of the risks wrestlers take every time they step into the ring. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for the former tag team champion.
