Folks, let me tell you, huge news out of WWE NXT—biggest you’ve ever seen. Karmen Petrovic punched her ticket to a future North American Women’s Championship match, and honestly, she might want to return it for a refund.
At NXT Vengeance Day, Stephanie Vaquer dethroned Fallon Henley to claim the North American Women’s Title. Three days later, Karmen Petrovic secured her shot at the gold by surviving an opening-match free-for-all against Jaida Parker and Kelani Jordan. And by “surviving,” I mean Ashante “Thee” Adonis literally tossed her back into the ring like an Amazon return package, allowing her to steal the pin on Jordan. A very strategic move, very sneaky. Some people are saying it was brilliant, some are saying it was shady. Who’s to say?
But just as Petrovic could barely catch her breath, absolute pandemonium broke out. Jordan and Parker continued throwing hands like they were settling a parking lot dispute, while Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx, and Jacy Jayne decided that was the perfect moment to introduce Petrovic to the fine art of steel chair percussion. Jayne, showing the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for Black Friday sales, whacked Adonis across the spine with a chair. Ouch.
Then, in what can only be described as the worst attempt at making friends, Fatal Influence taunted Petrovic right in front of the actual champions, Vaquer and Giulia. Naturally, the champs came to the rescue, only to get wrecked as well. Just when it looked like chaos would reign supreme, WWE’s newest signing, Jordynne Grace, sprinted down like a superhero with a gym membership and evened the odds.
Grace then threw down the challenge for a six-woman tag match, because nothing says “welcome to NXT” like solving problems the good old-fashioned wrestling way—by beating people up in an official capacity.
Meanwhile, Petrovic’s championship match date remains a mystery, much like WWE’s logic for some of their booking decisions. But one thing’s for sure: she’s in for a wild ride.
