Folks, it finally happened. Kenny Omega is a champion once again.
After months of chasing Konosuke Takeshita, and an entire saga spanning over a decade, Omega finally got his win—and he did it in grand fashion at AEW Revolution, dethroning Takeshita to become the AEW International Champion.
The Best Bout Machine is back in the gold business.
Takeshita’s Dominance and Callis’ Shenanigans
From the opening bell, Takeshita refused to let Omega dictate the pace.
✅ He grounded Omega early with precise holds.
✅ He absorbed V-Triggers like they were light slaps.
✅ He nearly planted Omega through a table, only for Kenny to flip it over like a disgruntled diner at a bad restaurant.
Meanwhile, Don Callis—wrestling’s most insufferable uncle—was lurking. Callis threw cheap shots from commentary, ran interference, and even tried to physically hold Takeshita back from being lifted for the One Winged Angel.
Spoiler alert: It didn’t work.
The Closing Sequence: A Flurry of V-Triggers and One Big Roll-Up
With the crowd roaring, Omega unleashed a barrage of V-Triggers, but Takeshita answered back with a few of his own—because when in doubt, just throw knees until someone stays down.
The finish was fast, frantic, and worthy of their rivalry:
- Takeshita escaped the One Winged Angel.
- Callis tried to stop Omega.
- Omega literally kicked him out of the way.
- A lightning-fast roll-up exchange ensued.
- Omega got the 1-2-3.
And just like that, Kenny Omega is the AEW International Champion.
History-Making Moment
With this win, Omega becomes the first man in AEW history to hold the World, International, Tag Team, and Trios Championships. The only AEW gold he hasn’t won? The TNT and Continental Titles.
So, what’s next? More title defenses? A new chapter with Takeshita? Or will Will Ospreay come knocking?
One thing is certain—the Best Bout Machine is back in the gold rush.
