Monday Night Raw was supposed to be another chapter in the rivalry between The New Day and The LWO, but instead, it turned into a full-blown lesson in unnecessary violence—at least, if you ask Kofi Kingston.
After securing a victory over Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde, Kofi and Xavier Woods decided that simply winning wasn’t enough. No, they needed to send a message—preferably one spelled out with punches, kicks, and the sound of bodies hitting the mat. And just when Dragon Lee tried to intervene? The New Day made sure he, too, got a free subscription to The Floor is Pain.
Kofi Kingston’s Post-Match Wisdom: “You’re Welcome”
If you were hoping for some kind of remorse from Kingston after this display of aggression, you must be new here. Instead, he hopped on social media to double down on his actions, claiming that The LWO should actually be grateful for the beating.
“Well, them LWO boys didn’t get the result they wanted, but we damn sure did give them the beatdown that they needed…That was the price we charged for getting them a match on RAW. When they wake up this morning, they had better be thanking us… #ThankGodForTheNewDay #WWERaw #RawOnNetflix.”
Yes, folks. Kofi Kingston has officially entered his “gaslighting but make it wrestling” era.
What’s Next for The New Day?
With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, The New Day has options. They could set their sights on becoming 13-time WWE Tag Team Champions by challenging The War Raiders, or they could finally put an end to their bad blood with The LWO in a high-stakes match.
And, of course, there’s the looming question mark known as Big E. He hasn’t been cleared for in-ring action, but after Kingston and Woods betrayed him during The New Day’s 10-year anniversary last December, we all know a confrontation is coming. The only question is when—and whether Big E has some payback of his own in store.
