Folks, Konosuke Takeshita is already busy defending titles in AEW, New Japan, and possibly fighting crime in his free time, but now he’s adding CMLL to the mix. Because apparently, Takeshita doesn’t believe in days off.
On CMLL Informa, the promotion aired a hype video announcing that Takeshita is coming to Arena Mexico, but here’s the catch—no date has been set. Why? Because his schedule is already looking like a wrestling-themed world tour:
- February 26 – Defends the AEW International Championship against Orange Cassidy on Dynamite.
- March 9 – If he wins, he faces Kenny Omega at AEW Revolution.
- April 11 – Faces Hiroshi Tanahashi in his final U.S. match at NJPW’s Windy City Riot.
- Somewhere in between – Might have to defend his NEVER Openweight Championship against Ryohei Oiwa in NJPW.
- And now, an upcoming CMLL debut—because what’s one more belt to carry?
Komander, Hologram, & Taya Valkyrie Join the Fun
Takeshita isn’t the only AEW name heading to CMLL:
- Komander & Hologram will team up on March 21 at Homenaje A Dos Leyendas, facing the legendary Mistico & Mascara Dorada (a.k.a. El Sky Team).
- Taya Valkyrie debuts on March 7, teaming with Lady Frost in a tournament for the CMLL World Women’s Tag Titles.
- Frost was originally teaming with Red Velvet, but Velvet is out due to injury—so Frost and Valkyrie will now try to claim gold instead.
What Does This Mean for AEW & CMLL?
Well, AEW and CMLL’s working relationship is heating up, and now we’ve got top talent crossing over—meaning we’re one step closer to seeing a lucha-libre Takeshita (just imagine the flying knees).
Bottom line? AEW stars are about to shake things up in Arena Mexico, and Takeshita might show up in CMLL holding multiple titles at the same time.
