On the latest episode of “NXT,” Ricky Saints came out fresh off a successful title defense at Stand & Deliver, probably just looking to bask in cheers and maybe deliver a humblebrag. But then Lexis King showed up — and brought with him the chaotic energy of a man who just got jumped by karma in the parking lot.
King interrupted to say Saints was “taking up his time,” which is bold coming from a guy whose clock just got cleaned by Noam “Mr. Heritage Cup 4x” Dar. Still holding the Heritage Cup at the time (barely), King tried to big-brain his way into a title-for-title match with Saints.
Saints, being a fighting champ and maybe not great at sensing traps, agreed.
Then came the twist:
Noam Dar returned, absolutely folded King, and walked out with the Cup — again.
Four reigns. One spinning elbow. Countless delusions shattered.
Later in the night, Saints reacted with class, saying he was happy for Dar. But King? He reacted with a sneak attack and a tantrum, blaming Saints for the loss like it was his elbow that knocked him out.
King now wants Saints’ North American Title next week — a match that was originally a champion vs. champion clash, and is now just champion vs. guy who lost on a Tuesday.
This will be Saints’ second title defense, following wins over Ethan Page and Shawn Spears — both former AEW alumni, just like King. At this rate, Saints is slowly building a résumé titled “How to Beat Up People Who Left Jacksonville.”
