From a Battleground cameo to beating Tavion Heights to pushing Trick Williams to the limit, Mike Santana has quietly gone from “guest star” to “WWE radar lock” in the span of a few NXT episodes—and now it looks like the TNA star might have options hotter than a Full Sail crowd during a surprise entrance.
According to PWInsider Elite, WWE higher-ups have taken a serious liking to Santana following his recent run-ins with Trick Williams, who currently holds the TNA World Championship in one of the most unbothered crossover flexes in wrestling history.
🔍 Quick Recap of the Santana Surge:
-
Battleground PLE: surprise NXT appearance.
-
NXT Debut Match: W over Tavion Heights.
-
TNA Title Shot: faced Trick Williams, came up short, but impressed everyone not named Trick.
-
Backstage Praise: Bishop Dyer (fka Baron Corbin) hyped his promos.
-
Bully Ray: said Santana has more upside than Joe Hendry.
(This may or may not have sent Hendry into a musical meltdown.)
⏳ What’s Next?
Santana’s current TNA contract is set to expire later this year, making the timing very convenient for WWE to swoop in if both sides want to make something official. While nothing has been signed, sealed, or superkicked (yet), there’s clearly momentum.
If WWE adds Santana to its roster, he’d join the likes of Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, and Ricky Starks on the growing list of former AEW stars who’ve made the jump and landed comfortably on network television—proving once again that if you work hard, hit hard, and deliver a promo with feeling, Vince’s radar eventually finds you.
And if you happen to do it while wearing the TNA logo on WWE programming, that’s just synergy… or sorcery.
