Folks, it’s official—Miro and AEW have parted ways, proving once again that just because you’re built like a tank doesn’t mean you can’t get parked in catering for two years.
How Did We Get Here?
- Miro came into AEW hot in 2020 as Kip Sabian’s “Best Man” (a gimmick that lasted about as long as a celebrity marriage).
- 2021: The Redeemer Era – Miro turns on Sabian, murders Darby Allin, wins the TNT Championship, and delivers a reign that many still consider one of the best ever.
- Then… he vanished.
- AEW seemingly forgot he existed, giving him only 11 matches in over two years.
- Fall 2023: Reports surfaced that Miro wanted out—but AEW held onto him like Tony Khan holds onto unused ROH titles.
- February 2024: AEW finally says, “Okay, you can go” after working out the terms of his release.
No word yet on a noncompete clause, so he could show up anywhere (except AEW catering, which he definitely won’t miss).
Where Does Miro Go Next?
👀 WWE?
- “Rusev Day” was massively over, proving that fans actually like fun things (shocking, I know).
- WWE fumbled his push before, but hey, if Cody can go from Stardust to main eventing WrestleMania, maybe Miro gets his second chance.
- Big question: Does WWE even want him back? (Or will they leave him on “read” like a bad ex?)
👀 TNA?
- TNA is making big moves lately, and Miro as a monster heel would fit perfectly.
- But let’s be honest—if WWE calls, he’s answering.
👀 New Japan?
- If Miro wants to fight dudes with no necks and get dropped on his head, NJPW would love to have him.
Final Thoughts: AEW Dropped the Ball
Miro’s TNT Title reign was proof that he could be a main-eventer, but AEW let him sit at home collecting dust for years. Now, the Redeemer is free—but where will he redeem himself next?
