Folks, it’s another wild week in the WWE-TNA crossover saga, and this time, TNA X-Division Champion Moose is bringing his gold to NXT for a title defense. That’s right—Moose will be putting his championship on the line against Lexis King, which means we are now officially living in a wrestling multiverse where anything is possible.
The drama started when King, the NXT Heritage Cup Champion and proud heir to the “I deserve everything” throne, confronted Moose. Apparently, King isn’t thrilled with the TNA invasion, particularly guys like JDC (formerly Fandango) waltzing in and getting title shots. Moose, being the generous destroyer that he is, responded the only way a fighting champion should: by offering King a title shot on the spot. But not just any title shot—one that comes with a personal guarantee that he will destroy King in the process. Very polite.
If King pulls this off, he’ll become a double champion, adding the X-Division Title to his NXT Heritage Cup. However, if Moose retains, he’ll have even more leverage heading into a potential showdown with NXT Champion Oba Femi, whom he had a tense exchange with earlier in the night. Femi said their match is inevitable, but whether it’ll be a champion vs. champion affair remains to be seen.
Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, next week’s NXT is stacked. We’re also getting:
- The Hardy Boyz vs. No Quarter Catch Crew in their return to WWE television, because nostalgia sells.
- Ricky Saints (formerly Ricky Starks) making his WWE in-ring debut in a tag match alongside Je’Von Evans.
With NXT heading to Cincinnati, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Will King become a double champ? Will Moose follow through on his destruction promises? Will the Hardy Boyz remind NQCC why they are legends? One thing’s for sure—this crossover continues to be must-watch.
